With 16 participants from different communities, the meeting commenced with a short prayer followed by reading from the Constitutions. Fr. Michael Raj Lazar, the BIS Coordinator, welcomed the participants and invited Fr. Joe Andrew, the Vice Provincial to give his inaugural message. He challenged the participants with the message of the Holy Father delivered during the World Communication day inviting everyone ``to make astute use of the unique possibilities offered by modern communications``.The first session of the day was handled by Fr. P.T. Joseph, introducing the structure, functioning of the National and the Province Websites and also the various services that can be effectively utilized by every Salesian in the Province. The second session by Fr. Dominic Matthews, he addressed the participants on ``how to write a report for BIS News``. Giving a few simple, practical tips and guidelines, he insisted that ``a BIS report should be read and understood without undue effort``. The third session by Fr. Harris Pakkam, was on Visual contents in BIS. It was an interactive, interesting and practical session very much appreciated by the participants. During the lunch break the participants were given the opportunity to explore what they heard in the morning. At 2.00pm Fr. Antony Christy, addressed the participants on some practical guidelines in reporting for INTERCOM. The practical session for about an hour and a half guided by Fr. P.T.Joseph and Mr. Patrick was aimed at training the BIS Correspondents to post news item and photo gallery on the website. Thanking the resource persons and the participants, the programme ended with a short prayer at 4.30pm. Indeed the participants went back enriched and enthusiastic, promising to giving the best from their respective communities in the days to come.
