Child and Youth Development Street and Working Children Services for street and working children are coordinated through DON BOSCO ANBU ILLAM. It has three Drop in Centers at Park Town near Central Railway Station, Katpadi and Villupuram, One Short Stay Home at Royapuram, Rehabilitation center at MKB Nagar and After Care Center at Mannadi, Chennai.
Orphanages
There are 8 Orphanages that includes two homes for the Street and working children. They operate in the deserved regions of our intervention areas to offer shelter and education with care to the orphaned and semi orphaned children.
Boarding Homes / Boys and Girls Homes
We run 17 homes for boys and girls from the poor marginalized families with educational facility. These children come from the remote rural and slum communities with less or no opportunities for quality education. These homes offer them with shelter, food, education and able guidance in enhancing their life coping skills to become a responsible citizens.
Hostels
Hostel facilities are offered for the youth in Higher education, Technical education and working youth in reducing their burden to continue their education and minimize their expenditure. There are 13 Hostels that serves poor youth who migrate from rural and tribal regions for higher education and work.
Youth Centers
Youth centers are developed in every mission center of the Province to enhance their skills through opportunities and motivate their participation in development initiatives. We have an Animation and Training center for youth and Youth Workers at Ennore which offers training and space for youth development.
Sports and Games
As part of Youth development a lot more importance is given towards Sports and Games. Don Bosco Wisdom Town Sports Academy for Talent Development, DB Mac Sports Hostel for Boys and regular tournaments in various sports and games encourages youth to excel with their talents. Many sports personal trained by our institutes are actively participating in National, State and Club Teams.
